Job Description
Responsibilities:- Perform dental hygiene procedures, including cleaning, scaling, and polishing teeth- Take and develop dental x-rays- Assess patients' oral health and provide appropriate treatment recommendations- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care- Administer local anesthesia -Monitor nitrous oxide as needed- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records using Dentrix-dental software system- Assist the dentist during procedures, including suctioning and passing instruments- Follow strict infection control protocols and maintain aseptic technique in all procedures- Collaborate with the dental team to ensure efficient and effective patient care
Qualifications:- Valid state dental hygiene license- Graduation from an accredited dental hygiene program- Proficiency in using dental software systems-Dentrix - Knowledge of medical terminology related to dentistry preferred- Familiarity with medical documentation practices and maintaining accurate records- Experience working in a dental office setting preferred- Strong communication skills and ability to educate patients on oral health care- Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate with other dental professionals
