Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Dental Hygienist to join our team. As a Dental Hygienist, you will play a vital role in providing quality dental care to our patients. Your primary responsibility will be to perform dental cleanings, provide oral health education, and interface with patients with kind and compassionate care.
Responsibilities:
- Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling, root planing, and polishing
- Take and develop dental x-rays
- Conduct oral cancer screenings
- Administer local anesthesia as needed
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide personalized oral health recommendations
- Assist the dentist during procedures by handing instruments, maintaining suction, and ensuring patient comfort
- Update and maintain accurate patient records using electronic medical record systems (e.g., Dentrix)
- Follow strict infection control protocols and maintain aseptic technique throughout all procedures
- Monitor vital signs and perform patient assessments as necessary
Experience:
- Proficiency in using Dental software for dental imaging
- Familiarity with dental terminology and coding for accurate documentation and billing purposes
- Knowledge of dental office procedures and workflows
- Strong understanding of aseptic technique and infection control protocols
- Experience in dental assisting is a plus
