Dental Assistant for Pediatric Dentist and Pediatric Oral Surgery
We are seeking a Dental Assistant to join our team at a prestigious dental practice newly specializing in both Oral Surgery and Pediatric Dentistry. If you are passionate about providing exceptional patient care and have experience in these specialized fields, we want to hear from you!
Responsibilities:
- Assist oral surgeon and pediatric dentists during surgical procedures, including dental extractions, frenectomies, and various pediatric treatments.- Prepare treatment rooms, ensuring all instruments, materials, and equipment are sterilized and ready for use.- Take and develop dental X-rays, intraoral photographs, and digital scans as required by the dentists.- Provide chairside assistance during patient examinations, treatments, and surgeries.- Educate patients and parents about oral hygiene techniques, post-operative care instructions, and preventive measures.- Maintain accurate patient records, including treatment plans, medical histories, and progress notes.- Manage inventory of dental supplies and equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels are maintained.- Adhere to infection control and safety protocols, ensuring a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.- Collaborate with the dental team to ensure smooth workflow and optimal patient care.
Requirements:- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a dental assisting program is a plus.- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Dental Assistant, with exposure to oral surgery and/or pediatric dentistry.- Proficiency in taking dental X-rays, intraoral photographs, and digital scans.- Knowledge of dental terminology, instruments, and procedures related to oral surgery and/or pediatric dentistry.- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients of all ages.- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail to maintain accurate patient records.- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and prioritize tasks effectively.- Knowledge of infection control and sterilization techniques is preferred.- CPR certification and radiography license preferred.- Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) are a plus.
