Responsibilities

• • Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment. i.e. countertops, delivery unit, suction holders, composite light.
  • Fill ultrasonic solution at beginning of day and drain at end of day.
  • Lubricate electric hand pieces and shorty as instructed.
  • Refill Midmark 11 Sterilizer with distilled water daily and empty after each cycle Run Spore test on Mondays and mail in for evaluation and keep log.    
  • Prepare treatment rooms, instruments and tray setups for dental procedures. Place headrest covers and clear wrap on x-ray button, mouse, handle of unit. Clean composite or bio-matter from instruments prior to wrapping.
  • Make sure water bottle is adequately filled for duration of procedure.
  • Greet and prepare patients for treatment. Walk behind patient and have then enter on Doctor side for Op 1 and 2. Patient side in op 3.
  • Apply topical in area of injection.
  • Use correct template for digital X-rays. Always place sensor protector before inserting in patients mouth.  Disinfect cone and x-ray unit after use.  Lead shield MUST be on.
  • Place lead apron on its hanger after use. Always use shield with thyroid collar to protect patient. 
  • Assist the dentist during examinations and treatment procedures. Chart correctly.
  • Conduct work in compliance with office policies and procedures, safety, and OSHA guidelines.
  • Provide postoperative instructions to those procedures that need them. Crown, root canal, scaling and root planing, and extractions.
  • Take alginate impressions and pour up bubble free models. Write patient last name on model with pencil.   Fabricate whitening trays. 
  • Record blood pressure and treatment information in patient records.
  • Participate in the achievement of patient satisfaction and office production goals by working efficiently and providing a high level of patient service. Write down any important upcoming details patient may share with you in memo area of chart. .  e.  Wedding, anniversary, birthdate, etc. 
  • Assist with other duties as directed from the attached Permitted Duties.
  • Take Extra-Oral photo of Patient at initial visit under Patient Photo Template. Place plastic camera sheath before taking intraoral photos.
  • Escort patient to front desk and inform receptionist of next appointment. Bring Route Sheets

  Minimum Requirements

  • Current California DA Certificate
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to perform detailed work according to established formats and protocols.
  • Current CPR certificate
