Mobile Dentist for Nursing Homes
Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate dentist to join our team as a Mobile Dentist specializing in providing dental care to residents of nursing homes. As a Mobile Dentist, you will have the unique opportunity to bring essential dental services directly to elderly patients who may face challenges accessing traditional dental care. Responsibilities:
1. Dental Assessments and Treatment Planning: Conduct comprehensive dental assessments for residents of nursing homes, including examinations, x-rays, and evaluations of oral health conditions. Develop personalized treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs and preferences.
2. Preventive Care: Perform routine preventive dental care procedures, such as cleanings, fluoride treatments, and sealants, to maintain oral health and prevent dental diseases.
3. Restorative Procedures: Administer restorative dental treatments, including fillings, crowns, bridges, and dentures, to restore functionality and aesthetics to patients' teeth and smiles.
4. Extractions and Oral Surgery: Perform tooth extractions and minor oral surgery procedures as needed, ensuring patient comfort and safety throughout the process.
5. Emergency Dental Care: Respond promptly to dental emergencies within the nursing home facility, providing urgent dental treatments and alleviating patients' pain and discomfort.
6. Patient Education: Educate patients, their families, and nursing home staff about proper oral hygiene practices, dietary habits for oral health, and the importance of regular dental check-ups.
7. Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate closely with nursing home staff, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate dental care services effectively. Maintain clear and open communication channels to ensure seamless patient care.
8. Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including treatment plans, procedures performed, and clinical notes, in compliance with regulatory standards and best practices.
9. Equipment and Supplies Management: Manage and maintain dental equipment, instruments, and supplies necessary for providing dental care in a mobile setting. Ensure proper sterilization and infection control protocols are followed at all times.
Qualifications:
- Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from an accredited dental school.
- Valid state dental license and DEA registration to practice dentistry.
- Prior experience working with geriatric or special needs populations preferred.
- Excellent clinical skills and proficiency in performing a wide range of dental procedures.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Compassion, empathy, and patience in providing care to elderly patients with diverse medical and cognitive backgrounds.
- Ability to work independently and adapt to varying environments and patient care settings.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $700.00 - $900.00 per day
Expected hours: 24 per week
