The role of an Orthodontic Dental Assistant is essential in delivering top-notch orthodontic care. They work closely with the Orthodontist to ensure a seamless patient experience. Their responsibilities include assisting with orthodontic procedures, such as preparing patients for examinations and providing support during treatments involving braces, aligners, and other orthodontic appliances.
Key responsibilities of an Orthodontic Dental Assistant include sterilizing and disinfecting instruments and equipment, maintaining cleanliness in each operatory, preparing tray setups for procedures, instructing patients on postoperative and general oral health care, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, charting patient records, supporting the dentist during treatment procedures, taking digital x-rays, and managing supply inventory.
The ideal candidate for this role should have at least 1 year of experience in an orthodontic practice, be patient-focused, a team player, and possess exceptional customer service skills. They should also be able to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
