POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice. As a Dental Hygienist, you will play a vital role in providing quality dental care to our patients. Your primary responsibilities will include performing dental cleanings, conducting oral health assessments, educating patients on oral hygiene practices, and assisting the dentist in various procedures. The ideal candidate will have exceptional communication skills, a gentle touch, and a passion for improving patients' oral health.

RESPONSIBILITIES


Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and debridement, to remove plaque, tartar, and stains from patients' teeth.
Conduct oral health assessments, including examination of the gums, teeth, and oral tissues, to identify signs of disease or abnormalities.
Take and develop dental X-rays as directed by the dentist, ensuring high-quality images for accurate diagnosis.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, including brushing, flossing, and nutrition, to promote optimal oral health.
Provide preventive treatments, such as fluoride application and dental sealants, to protect patients' teeth from decay.
Assist the dentist during procedures by handing instruments, maintaining a sterile field, and providing patient comfort measures.
Document patient treatment information, including examinations, procedures, and recommendations, accurately and efficiently in the dental records.
Collaborate with the dental team to develop individualized treatment plans for patients, based on their oral health needs and goals.
Stay updated on the latest advancements in dental hygiene techniques, technologies, and regulations through continuous education and professional development.


REQUIREMENTS


Valid Texas dental hygienist.
Graduation from an accredited dental hygiene program.
Strong knowledge of dental hygiene procedures, techniques, and instruments.
Proficiency in taking and developing dental X-rays.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex dental procedures and oral hygiene practices to patients.
Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining strict infection control protocols.
Compassionate and friendly demeanor, with the ability to make patients feel comfortable and at ease.
Ability to work well in a team environment, collaborating with dentists, dental assistants, and administrative staff.
Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize and manage patient appointments effectively.
