Summary:
The role of the dentist is to diagnose and treat oral diseases and pathology. The primary focus is treating dental problems involving teeth, gums, and related parts of the mouth. Including but not limited to; tooth/ teeth debridement, correction of occlusion / overcrowding issues, perform surgeries, extractions, fillings, crown/bridge restorations, and endodontic therapy. To be a successful dentist, you should be caring, communicative, and possess the ability to explain dental treatments and procedures in a manner that is easily understood by the patient. The dentist is expected to provide patient advice, instruction, and counseling on oral care, post operative care, nutrition, smoking/nicotine cessation and lifestyle choices that affect oral and overall health.
Requirements:

Doctor of Dental Surgery or Dental Medicine.
CPR certification
Valid state license and malpractice insurance.
Additional experience, certifications, or licensing that may be required.
Willingness to comply with all local, state, and federal laws regarding dental and health care.
Comprehensive knowledge of dental procedures, tools, and diagnostics.

Duties:

Identify and remove decay from teeth and restore teeth to function
Repair or remove damaged teeth
Place sealants or whitening agents on teeth
Administer anesthetics or sedatives for pain management
Prescribing medications for dental problems, such as pain medications or antibiotics
Ability to read x rays of teeth, gums, the jaw, and nearby areas in order to diagnose problems
Take impressions or digital scans and measurements for dental appliances and treatment planning
Order diagnostic aids such as x-rays, intra oral photos and impressions
Manage patient records relating to procedure and post operative documentation
Managing and communicating with other staff members to provide care to patients

Skills:

Proven experience working in a dental practice.
Strong computer skills and experience with healthcare databases and applications.
The ability to use various dental instruments and equipment.
The ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
The ability to work in a team and provide leadership
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ability to keep detailed records.
Good hand-eye coordination
Professionalism and ability to collaborate with other dentists, dental hygienists, dental assistants and other team members
