Elica is currently seeking to add a passionate Dentist to our team! The Dentist will be primarily responsible for examining and providing clinical dental services and preventive dental care in a community health center setting.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
The successful Dentist will be willing and able to:
Examines individuals requesting care, diagnose their dental/oral conditions, prescribes and carries out, or directs others in carrying out, appropriate dental/oral treatment, or refers individuals for specialty consultation or treatment in conformance with approved clinical protocols and guidelines
Educates individuals in the nature of oral health related conditions and in the general promotion of oral health related disease prevention
Communicate with dental staff on our team regarding patient treatment plans
Supervises the clinical work of the dental assistants and hygienists

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
Education and Licensing Requirements:
Candidate must be board certified or board eligible and licensed to practice medicine in the State of California
Practice medicine in the State of California
Current, valid and unsuspended State of California medical licensure.
DEA X-license required (waiver)
Current CPR certification required
Experience:
At least 2 years experience working with underserved, low-income persons or homeless persons preferred.
Knowledge of:
Current, standard dental practices, treatments, and tests
Current and emerging trends in technologies, techniques, issues, and approaches in area of expertise.
Pertinent federal, state and local laws and regulations regarding scope of practice issues affecting licensed community clinics.
Principles of management and supervision.
General information about public and private health insurance and third-party reimbursement issues.
Community resources related to specialty care and other health-related services.
Cultural sensitivity and a strong commitment to serve medically underserved families required
Commitment to Safety Standards:
Maintain current knowledge of policies and procedures as they relate to safe work practices.
Follow all safety procedures and report or resolve unsafe conditions to ensure an injury-free work environment.
Use appropriate ergonomic measures to reduce risk of work-related injuries.
Assure adherence to infection control procedures in the clinic, including bloodborne pathogen protocols.
Physical Requirements
The work environment is characteristic of a dental clinic environment. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to handle or feel. The employee is also required to stand; walk; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee must also possess hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the phone. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.

Compensation - Dependent Upon Experience
$156000 - $202800 annually
