Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Dental Assistant to join our team. As a Dental Assistant, you will work closely with the dentist and dental hygienist to provide quality dental care to our patients. Your role will involve assisting with various dental procedures, maintaining infection control protocols, and ensuring the smooth operation of the dental office.
Duties:- Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations and procedures- Assist the dentist during dental procedures, including passing instruments, suctioning, and providing patient comfort- Take and develop dental x-rays as directed by the dentist- Perform dental charting and record patient information in electronic medical records systems such as Eaglesoft- Provide chairside assistance during dental procedures, anticipating the needs of the dentist and ensuring efficient workflow- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care instructions- Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment following infection control guidelines- Maintain inventory of dental supplies and order new supplies as needed- Schedule patient appointments and manage the dental office calendar- Assist with front desk duties such as answering phone calls, greeting patients, and managing patient records
Skills:- Dental assisting experience preferred but not necessary. WILLING TO TRAIN the right candidate- Proficiency in taking dental x-rays and operating medical imaging equipment- Understanding of infection control protocols and aseptic technique in a dental setting- Experience working with pediatric patients is a plus- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written- Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
