Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Dental Hygienist to join our team. As a Dental Hygienist, you will play a vital role in providing quality dental care to our patients. Your primary responsibility will be to perform dental cleanings, provide oral health education, and assist the dentist in various procedures. Responsibilities:
- Perform dental cleanings, including scaling, root planing, and polishing
- Take and develop dental x-rays
- Conduct oral cancer screenings
- Administer local anesthesia as directed by the dentist
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide personalized oral health instructions
- Maintain accurate patient records and document treatment plans
- Sterilize dental instruments and equipment
- Follow infection control protocols and maintain a clean and safe working environment
Experience:
- Previous experience as a Dental Hygienist preferred but not required
- Knowledge of pediatric dental care is a plus
- Proficiency in taking vital signs and recording medical documentation
- Understanding of medical terminology and coding systems
- Ability to perform patient assessments and provide appropriate recommendations
Requirements:
- Valid state license as a Dental Hygienist
- Graduation from an accredited dental hygiene program
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
- Ability to work well in a team environment
