Position Overview: As a valued member of our team, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive dental hygiene care to our patients. Your duties will include:   

• Performing oral prophylaxis, polish, periodontal treatment on all patients as needed based on “Standards of Care” guidelines.
• Use the intraoral camera on every patient and use the photos to educate patients about their oral health, perform a comprehensive periodontal evaluation, including probe depths, bleeding points, recessions, mobility, furcation, etc.   Identify failing dental restorations, decay, and/or open contact.  Chart any progress/decline and advise the patient.
• Take radiographs, place flouride and delivery of anti-microbial agents as needed based on "Standard of Care" guidelines.
• Summarize your findings to the patients and educate them about the potential consequences of their condition if left untreated. Educate the patients regarding the next steps that the Doctor will likely recommend. 
• Discuss any unscheduled treatment with patients using visual tools and verbal skills to educate and motivate them.
• When openings arise in schedule, assist with reactivation phone calls, sterilization, stocking hygiene room, etc.
• Routine equipment maintenance, flush lines, etc.

Requirements:

• Valid state dental hygiene license
• Current BLS certificate
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a dental hygiene role, preferrably periodontal experience
• Proficiency in Dentrix dental software 
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
• Commitment to continuing education and professional development
